Strong Schools, Strong Communities.
Welcome to my website! I'm so glad you're here!
School is a place for learning, and every student has a right to their education. I invite you to look around and read up on my thoughts, experience and passion for the children and youth in our community.
We are Rangers!
I believe in serving our students' best interests first.
My Platform
Teachers Should Be Teachers
I believe there is too much pressure put on teachers to be everything for their students. Teachers should be able to focus on instruction while creating an environment conducive to learning.
Parents Should Be Parents
Parents contribute to their student's education every day; instilling good character by turning in homework on time, studying for tests and following the general rules of the school and the classroom.
Everyone Is Held Accountable
Student success is a group effort that includes the student, the parent, the teacher and the administration. If one of those groups is missing, it is a team effort to find the gap and close it to the best of everyone's ability.
About Me!
I believe in setting an example for our youth. I believe in a student’s right to an education. I believe teachers should be teachers and parents should be parents.
I grew up in Duluth, MN where I earned my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education and Language arts from The College of St. Scholastica in 2005.
I spent ten years teaching Early Childhood through to 8th grade between my hometown and South Minneapolis.
In 2015 I began working alongside my husband with the operations and management of our bakery/café/coffee shop.
I have spent the last 7 years working indirectly with our schools; catering meals for teachers and staff, speaking to our students about business ownership, and employing a lot of the youth in our community at my shop. I look at our business as a ministry; teaching our young people valuable work/life balancing skills, accountability, working as a team and respecting authority.
